that looks coded right i havn't looked threw it all but it does. so im going to ask you to check your config.php look for

it should look like

all so you need to add two other things
find
$content = "var isHorizontal=1;";
on a new line before add
$content = &qu ...

only reason I can think of is that the blocks must be named like so block-DOOMS_DAY_CLOCK.php

im guessing but in the block where it says echo " some text ";

change it to $content = " some text ";

and it will show up in the block
