Hello,

All i need to know is how do you make a graphic or button link. I am looking for something like on this website. [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

see how u click on "catering" and it opens in the bottom part? that is exactly what i want. I want to make a link, that when u put your mouse over it, the text glints (i can make it glint, but on mouse rollover) and i also want the link to open in the same page (like the one on the website above)

As you can i am a total noob, i don't know any actionscripting. Please help me

I'd use a goto method to achieve this. For example, If you want the button/image to 'glint' when you mouse over it, I'd put a condition on the image to goto the starting frame of the glint animation on mouse rollover.

Lets say that you have the glint between frames 20 and 30.
On frame 1, put a stop action, for the button use On MouseEvent Rollover Goto and play frame 20.
At frame 30, put a Goto and play frame 1 action.
For the actual link, use On MouseEvent press GetURL
To make it open on the same page use Window _self

as i said, i am a total noob....new to flash, if you don't mind, can u give the EXACT thing to type please. and if possible, include a picture of a timeline of a mouse over glint effect. I kinda understand what you r trying to say but don't know where to put ; () and all the other tags. One more thing, where do i put my url?

You don't need to do any actionscripting by hand, Flash will insert the syntax for you. What version of Flash are you using?

Put a GetURL action in the final frame.
