i have made the wood effect look in photoshop i am wanting to turn it into a pattern so i can use it all the time without remaking it is this possible ???

Draw a rectangular selection around the part you want to use as a Pattern. Go to Edit>Define Pattern. In the dialog box that pops up, give it whatever name you want to call it, then click OK.

To use the pattern, select your Paint Bucket Tool. Then on the top toolbar, beside Fill: choose Pattern. Beside Pattern, find the pattern you just made. Fill your image.
