How do you enable gd lib in php 4.3.5 or is it something you have to install seperate??

When I did it I had to put a ticket into my hosting compnay asking for it to be installed.

As I recall it's just a matter of uncommenting the relevant line in your php.ini
You may also have to put the gd.dll in the system folder too if it isn't already there on a Windows server.
Telli will no doubt clarify this when he sees it.

If you have shell access install ImageMagick its much better for proccessing images.

# Login to your server through SSH as root.
# Type: mkdir /home/src
# Type: cd /home/src
# Type: wget [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
# Type: tar xvzf ImageMagick-5.5.7-17.tar.gz
# Type: cd ImageMagick-5.5.7
# Type: ./configure
# Type: make
# Type: make install
# Type: cd PerlMagick
# Type: perl Makefile.PL
# Type: make
# Type: make install

As far as enabling GD download this anaylyzer below and upload to your root directory it will tell you if it installed. Or you can make a file and place this in it:
