Having trouble with errors on variables in MX 2004

icon_mad.gif I am using if statements to check to see if a variable has a specific value. I keep getting errors because we arent putting a value and the variable in quotes. However when we put them in quotes they become treated as a string which is not what I want. I are wondering if I am using the proper syntax for the if statment or if anyone else has had this problem. Please reply your help is greatly needed and aprreciated.

Sry to dissapoint you but i think i figured out the problem a couple minutes after this post. I realized that numbers cant start a variable ie. 92poscur which was changed to poscur92. I also saw that the set command makes the variables into strings. Im pretty sure this fixed the problem but if not I'll let you know. Thanks anyway
