Also, many Site Info (also called User Login) Blocks have a hit counter built in. The one from RavenPHPscripts.com and Protector (http://protector.warcenter.se) are good examples.

You can always have a seperate block like the one used here (and suggested above) but these solutions are always an easier, integrated solution that won't take up extra space. Further, the one from Protector uses whatever you have in your Site's "Site Start Date:" setting (In Admin/Preferences) to describe your hits.

For example, mine says, "Since Converting from SharePoint on March 1, 2004" and that shows up above my hit counter in my site information block.
