I know you cant give me legal advice but does anyone know how stong this case could be, etc. or even if I have one. All his service provider did was make him change a few words around.

A competitive site dupliccated my domain name then took my exact home page and changed one single link to drive customers to there site instead of mine...

They even used my exact sites name in the meta title, Well every single thing is identicle to mine.

They simply coppied and pasted into an html editor and missed hidden text I had in there.. They even missed a couple of hidden links I had barried for the bots.

Please look at the link below as I have snapshots that are on there so you can see exactly what has been done.

Sorry the page will load a little slow because of the size of the snapshots.

Thanks to those that can send me in the right direction.

here is the link [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

We have had similar issues in the past.
Look up his hosts Terms of agreement.
If they are breaching these, send a email to the service provider quoting each instance of their Terms of Agreement and evidence to which the offender breaches them.

Althu the terms may mention they are not responsible for the content of sites, they can still be named in any ensuing legal actions if they do not police their agreement. This can also be mentioned.
Do not abuse or insult them directly, remain factual and polite.

In most incidences where this has happened, we and others have had copyrighted material removed between 2 and 24 hrs, of particular note is Photo bucket, they where on the ball very quick no questions asked, 10 out of 10 to them.

A friends gaming site was duplicated some time back, the host did nothing, until members and several non members started sending letters of complaint to the host, all polite.
Also the site was heavily spammed with polite posts and threads pointing out the infringements over several days. The site closed, got a new host, again the number of emails to the host and forum spam the site closed..
