favicon problem with IE and compatible browsers

Somewhere, somehow I picked up something that changed my favicons for sites in my favorites....for example the favicon for [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] which I own shows up as the Y icon for yahoo...Yahoo's favicon shows up as a pirate or something..etc..etc. No one else I know of has had this problem...I've scanned and cleaned all I can clean so my last thought is to delete my favorites for the screwy icons, clear my cache, my cookies and see if it will help. God knows we all hate clearing all that so I'm just looking for some answers on why this happened. Maybe someone out there knows of a virus that targets favicons for some stupid reason LOL.

Never heard of any virus that changes that. Deleting temp. internet files (cookies, cache etc) should fix it though.
