My problem is this...
Everything seems to be working fine with my site, my problem is that i cannot log out from my admin interface of the site. Before whenever i click on the admin log out button or link i used to be redirected to the admin log in page after being logged out as admin. But now when i try to log out from the admin page am redirected again to the admin page itself... it doesn't log me out. Please someone help me.

I don't know how to fix the problem for good. But here is a quick fix to try. Clear your browser cookies, and then there should be no way your still logged in.

There are two things to do,

1) If you are running a "local" Nuke site like I do on my laptop for development work, then you have the cookies interfering with both sites. If that is the case, then log out of the local site first.

2) If you are using MSIE, delete the cookies... Tools > Internet Options > ... then delete the cookies.

This should eliminate the problem. At that point you will have to log back on. If you have another browser, or OS, you may have to manually search your drive for the folder where the cookies and temporary internet files are stored. Delete the files.

Depending on your OS and browser, you may have to reboot. If that doesn't do it, then I don't know what to tell you because eliminating the cookie should take care of the problem.
