I have some users who have informed me that they cant register with the site...it says "module not active". This is also happening when people try to logout of our site.

It seems to me that you have the Your Account module not active. Go in to the Admin.php/Modules and activate the Your Account module and see if that works!

That is probably it, I remember deactivatin git, but I thought that only did the link...not the action. Thanks for your help!

If you don't want the link to show, then go in to the module and tell it no to visible in module block.
