I've posted about this at a couple of nuke forums with no solution yet... so I'm hoping maybe someone here might be able to shed some light.

I am running phpnuke 7.6 patched with NukeSentinel(tm) 2.5.02

I have a rather peculiar problem with the news module.

At times, the links to the full news article from the index page where I have the module located as the main index page module, will not open, but hangs instead and ends up giving me the following error Mozilla Firefox (and just keeps trying to resolve in explorer).

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

I've done everything to do with cookies and there's been no change.

Again the problem occurs at odd times during the day and sometimes for up to a few hours at a time.

My server host has pointed me to this string which is actually for post nuke but it does not help me.

I'm not sure what to do, apart from relocating the site to another server with a different host to see if that fixes the problem - but then it would be waste of time $ and resources if its something to do with nuke itself.

Sure, thanks.

The site is [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

A news link (and its only this module it effects): [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Again - its not a consistent error. Sometimes the pages open fine, other times I get the above error. Right now, it appears to be working okay however two hours ago I was getting the error - I've also tried to see if it happens at a particular time of the day, but t appears to be random.

I clicked a few links this morning couldn't get that error to occur. Hard to advise a problem if I can't see it. I want to blame it on your host.

Cookies would make no sense as knowing that an article is not restricted in anyway. That is simply the oddest order I have ever seen.

I still think its host related, but the answer is beyond me.

Thanks for looking into it for me - I do appreciate it.

Until I can find some concrete evidence though my host isn't interested in looking further into it at their end, which means I'll probably have to move a new host.

I've been thru somewhat similar troubles that happen intermittenly. I would almost guarantee it's your server's fault. Yes they deny it and the only way to test it is to change servers unfortunately...since they do not wish to work with you.

Try a free server as a temporary test. Or at worst case, try a cheap server that does not make you sign a contract or pay extra fees just to set up a host for a month.

Check out [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] there's a 2.99 package that will truely only cost you 2.99 for great service with no limits and you can cancel after one month with no troubles.
