Hi there from a newbie,

I have a phpnuke 7.9 site running and patched with 3.3 from [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] for sometime now.

a short while back IE7 started popping up a banner warning on top when opening my bookmarked link to the admin page. just a simple community site link like "mydomain.net/admin.php"

The banner warning was :-
"allow add-on Microsoft Data Access - Remote Data Services Dat... " I would not allow this as despite saying certified by Microsoft corporation I was distrustful.

Im puzzled by this as I added nothing that I know of to the site. Trawling for info I came accross mention of vunerabilities but I think the ones listed are coverd by having latest patches in. Only additional out of the standard was that I modified NukeNews theme, and have Authorise users module in order to vet users. ( Approve Membership version 6.1.6-7.9 from [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] )

My sohpos virius scanner caught some trojan files from my IE cache a few times and the visit to my site was only info in the cache at the time. The weird thing is that the banner is not always popping up. If I clear the cache of cookies/temp files after getting such a warning Im ok, but then it will happen within a visit or two later. A neighbour using the site told me they got a virus warning too following a visit to my site.

The site is hosted on a Linux server and was built initally using fantastico. The ISP has a visus check on the domain / toolbox and nothing comes up.

Fearing I have some exploit with a foot in the door I come to you guys for any ideas on what to look for. Any info or assistance would be very welcomed.

I'm happy to give more details if needed, just thought perhaps someone has seen the basic banner before now.
