how are you trying ot do it? some pages have no right click enabled so you wont be able ot see anything at all when you try to do it

i right click and it shows the choices then i go to view source and nothing happens

just like I said, most pages have view source blocked which is why nothing happens after you choose view source

but even on niece's i couldnt get the source even on yahoo.com i can't get the view source but my school computer can

This happened to me once. Usually, when you right click to view source, notepad opens to display it. In my case, notepad decided it wanted nothing to do with the whole affair. I couldn't view the source of anything at all.

Here are a few things to try if you haven't already tried them:

1. Empty your Temorary Internet Files (open IE > click Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files)

2. Check that Notepad is actually working, if not get a good copy of Notepad.exe

3. Check your desktop for any link or folder that has the word 'Notepad' in it, if there is one, remove it and reboot. IE will try to execute the link instead of notepad.exe and that would stop you from viewing source.
