I made several changes to the block, added color via css and some other things and will it here for anyone who wants it once I test it for a bit. Back to the randomizing problem. You mentioned that you thought something was being cached. I turned the site cache off but still am running zend behind the scenes at the server level....this would be the first time I've had problems such as that.

Do you by some chance have a possible workaround?

For the random poll give me a few to make up a new method for getting the random poll data.
