Im using nuke 6.9

when i first installed it told me to set up a admin-- did that-- then it asked if I wanted the same as a member-- i did that-

heres the problem.. when logging on as admin it does not let me into my members only forums----- you would think if i log on as admin it would grant me access everywhere.....??
is this normal or did i miss something in the setup??

much thanks--

Turbo

Thats normal you have to have two accounts for the site. Your account requires you to be logged in in order to view it. The forums can be viewed by the admin even if your not logged in as a user.

are you saying that if i log on as admin I should be able to get in to my "members only" forum??
I must have something set up wrong then because right now I have to log on as user to get into them-- if im in as admin and try to veiw the members only forum it kicks me to the log-in screen--

when i first set up nuke i did go to the forums and set my user name to admin, which works fine when I log on as user--

this is not a real big issue, just an annoyance.... if you have any ideas fine, but I dont want to waste your time on this.....
TY

You may access some parts of your forums if you are logged in as the nuke admin.

It is confusing really cos when you are logged in as your user you will also be the forum admin. If you are logged into your site as the nuke admin you should be able to acces all parts of your site but with limited access to what you can do in those parts.

I've done the same registered as admin and created another account as a user but what I've noticed is that everytime I go into the site I see two users online. Whenever I go into as admin, the admin name is hidden and when I go in as the user I see the username online but the admin name is hidden. Is this normal? It is annoying, i've already deleted cookies and cleared the internet history. I got rid of the user account and then I only say one person online but I need that user account.

I don't know too much about nuke, but I have this same situation and it doesn't matter which user info block you may use, if you are logged on as admin and then user, both will show up.
I am assuming, that there is some coding in the users block that picks up the user and records you as a user unless you are in the admin panel. Now, then if you have the block installed that lists staff as staff, then it would have another code to piock that up. So if you are an admin, you are logged in and on the site so you show up as online. even when you go to another page and are then registered as a user online.
Summary: I think it is likely to be the who's online feature that is doing this, but I don't know much so who knows.

Just trying to help brainstorm this annoying issue...
