I was looking for a lake applet, but I see you've found one.

The difference between the two is that the Ripple Script is a script written in Javascript. It causes a ripple effect under your cursor. The Lake Effect is an applet written in Java, not Javascript. It causes the lake effect over an image whether you mouse over it or not. Two totally separate things.
