I have all the upgrade files but what exactly do i do with them :S doesnt really give an explanation in the readme.

All you have to do is...

Upload the files from 7.1..
Then in the upgrades folder..
Run all of them from the browser up to 7.1 from 6.5

Does the site lose all its data?

Nope, you shouldnt loose any at all.. The only thing you will loose is the mods you have done to your site, if any at all.

the reason why there are upgrades is because the files have been upgraded...you can't just run the upgrade scripts without upgrading the files. so any blocks, mods or tweaks you have done will be lost unless you edit the files manually

why would nuke do upgrades if all that was needed was to do the scripts and nothing else? doesn't make sense does it.

add the files needed and then edit them. then and only then do you run the upgrade scripts

So any changes to themes or custom made blocks/modules will be lost? :O

the theme changes wont be noticeable since it is just cosmetic. the files are the importnant ones.

if you dont upgrade the files and just run the upgrade scripts, your site will get errors and also be vulnerable to hacker attacks. that is why these upgrades were made

Hmm so i have to:

1) Run each upgrade script
2) Upload all the new files that have been upgraded

?

yep...make sure to keep backups of yur old files
