I think I can clarify exactly what the prob is ... something similar happened with my site too and using 7.1. People who would try to register were not receiving their activation emails at all. I also would like to know what to fix on this cuz I ended up using the nsn your account module thingy so users dont need the activation link. Yet still have a problem with a user that may have forgotten their pw. I believe these two probs are tied in together. The link for the "lost pw" doesnt work either. Hope somebody knows how to fix both of our probs please.

Thanks,
RedWolf111

the activation email is causing problems because your URL info in your admin>preferences link is incorrect. you need ot make sure the correct path with no trailing slashes is in the URL

Not sure about Ace...but some of the people on my site never got the email to begin with. So the URL didnt play a factor in the problem I was having with the email. It just plain did not send the email. I had one person tell me that did not get the email for registering, so I knew about the nsn_your_account moule, and installed it to see if that was a fix for it. Well it was only then that I noticed that there was 5 others that were "waiting" yet. Who knows how many more tried to join the site and never got the email so just decided it wasnt worth joining.

P.S. It seems like its not a steady problem. I was told of one that didnt get the email so I added them manually. a day later one person signed up fine...but then problems again a day afterwards. icon_rolleyes.gif

Matt.... a lot of times it also has to do with their email addy. Recently, both Yahoo and hotmail has been adding nuke emails in the spam area so it could be that too.

there is a script in [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] that allows you to re-send the activation email to prospective members

the site URL is all you need to reconfigure. make sure there are no trailing slashes at the end of the URL
