I guess to try to explain my question, I will tell you what I'm doing.
I'm making a sig with a logo and putting my username into it , made with photoshop, kinda chrome-like. I wanna add it into flash mx then do the glint effect to it. Everytime I do this it adds a black background to the .png and the :line doesnt show up right.

I got it to work just adding the text into the sig with flash, but I like the way photoshop can make the text look. Is it somehow possible to merge the photoshop image into the sig and still be able to do the glint on it?

Yes, it is possible, but a little tricky.
When you import the image with the text on into Flash, you will have to break it apart (Ctrl+b) and erase everything around the text with the eraser. Basically everything that isn't erased will have the effect on it, so erase the holes in "O"s etc too.
