ok everyone, Im completely new to php, actually im completely new to webpage building. So I go and download php nuke 7.2 and I extract the files to my public_html folder on my webspace and now when I click my link for my space, I see an index page of the folders. Some folders of my signatures, avatars, family pics, and a html folder that says "There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server, sorry for the inconvenience.

We should be back shortly"

So did i put this stuff in the wrong place or what? Help please...lol

Did you edit the config.php? Did you set up the mysql databases?

First a database has to be created for nuke to access and store information. If you are on a remote host, ask the tech support for help (most have access to a program like phpMyadmin to create and edit databases). Many remote hosts have a tools area where you just enter a name for the database and hit enter.

When the database is created, make sure you grab the username, password, hostname, and the database name. This is the information you need for the config file. Just insert that information as directed in the instructions (or comments added to the config).

Read this sites howto file on installing and other issues with nuke ( [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] ), it is well done.

Oh, one more suggestion.

If you are uncomforatble dealing with mysql or setting up Nuke, you may want to look into how much the owners of this site charge to set things up.

Use their feedback form to get a quote: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

I am no way affiliated with this site, you just have to admire the work they do on this site. Besides, they probably have custom versions they use that have all the security patches installed.

Loading the wrong file through phpmyadmin, use nuke.sql found in the sql directory.
