Hi guys,

I don't understand why one day our forum suddenly would not show up. [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

I have been trying to fix this for over a week now. I am sure it has nothing to do with any settings stored in the database and the files under the root of the web page because I had tried to restore the whole of database as well as the web page files to a backup copy before the problem was noticed and yet the problem still exists after the restoration.

I wonder it has anything to do with the apache or mysql server... *I wish I knew php better to track the problem down.*

Anyone can help me out please! The clan members are going to kick my derrière off soon... notworthy.gif

All I see is a question mark. ?

Have you tried reuploading the forums module for your nuke version? (*Warning this will wipe out any mods or hacks in that module so backup the original forums module first!)

Hi echo,

I haven't just reload the forum module, I have tried re-install phpNuke (v7.1) and started from scratch with an empty forum -> create a testing category -> create a testing forum topic -> ensure the forum is not locked, etc. Still no joy!

I have some testing and have the following interesting observation...

Say the web page is stalled under folder root/htdocs. If I copy all the phpNuke files from a fresh install to root/htdocs/v74pure/ and then access the forum with [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] and click the menu item Forum near the top of the page,

viola! The forum is shown!

This is the case even I tarred the root/htdocs folder and then untarred it to root/htdocs to create root/htdocs/htdocs/. So it appears the forum module cannot be accessed at the web page root level (root/htdocs).

Why is that the case? I have checked that the config.php files in root/htdocs and root/htdocs/v74pure are the same.

Is this a CPanel Nuke install or did you upload nuke through your FTP?

So you uploaded it into a folder named: v74pure? and not the root? Have you tried moving all the nuke files via your webhost control panel into the root? maybe just a copy and paste job to see if that works? Does everything function correctly the way it's setup now in the v74pure folder?

As far as the Forum is concerned, if it is accessed from root/htdocs/v74pure, yes it works. I did try copy and paste all files from v74pure to root/htdocs and bounce apache server, but then the forum would not show up!

I still suspect apache server is doing something funny. However, I don't recall anything has been done on the apache server config in last few months. icon_sad.gif
