hi ive been wanting to ask this question for sometime now, i noticed a blank or empty image placeholder under every news or article page and i cant trace its origin. what is it?

Are you using the default banner system? look in your admin panel and see if you have banners activated or not, if yes and you're not using banners just turn it off.
