I am looking for a mod where users are able to "ignore" different forums and/or categories. Kind of like the way the ignore users mod works. This way on large forums users can "ignore" the forums they don't have an interest in, and keep the forums that they like. Later on, as their mood changes, they can go to a page which displays the forums they have been ignoring and they can turn them back on again.

Anyone??

It looks very straightforward...no real need for porting. Ignore the upgrade files and the DBupdate file.
Just run this SQL instead
INSERT INTO nuke_bbconfig VALUES ('ignore_or_hide_forums', 1);
ALTER TABLE nuke_users ADD user_ignore_hide_forums VARCHAR(255);

And I would recommend in the first few lines of editing to comment out the lines instead of replacing them.

It should work just like it is tho...Nice Find! I'm gonna install it soon on PNP and see how it works.

well..it's been about 30 minutes now for me and I've still got a quarter of the bar of edits to go. It all looks good still tho...except for the blocking searches cuz I already have the search.php modded so I'm skipping that part.

Ok, I have it installed. No errors, but it doesn't work. That's not to say it doesn't work for a forum WITHOUT category heirarchies (how do you spell that??). I am going to have to dig in and find a way for it to work with this mod.

I'll bet it works fine with a regular forum.

I do like the admin option of allowing to hide the forums or just not show the new posts icons. This is a pretty good mod.

I'm still clickin away...a little distracted so its taking a bit longer, but I just have a normal forum so I'll let ya know the result it about 3 days when I finish with these 10 minutes worth of edits
