I really need help on this... preferences can not see the database... therefore I cant change anything, and people are not receiving emails when they register because there in no name for the website/master/email

tag, I apologize here for not resonding sooner. Now I see that you used Fantastico to install nuke correct? Sometimes, I have wittnessed funny things from people that use this method when installing nuke, especially using it to upgrade nuke. How old is this install? and was there an upgrade in the process?

Only changes I have made are patch 3.0b from Nukesentinel. But just so you know it stopped working before that.

i can not find anything in admin.php for op or Configure... course i dont really know what I am looking at to match with the database as you suggested the other day

Actually I have been having all sorts of problems, some of them recurring... I do not know if 7.5 fantasticto to 7.5 patched had changes to the database ... If there were no changes in 7.5 patched to the database I could uplaod ALL the files from am-nuke, using the new database... 2 hours... still with no guarantee it will work - or work at all...

Learning alot about php nuke today .... the field "footermsgtxt" is in admin/modules/settings.php (should have been named settings instead of preferences :P

it was nuke sentinel that was installed. Nothing in there to cause this.

Thank you for helping me to find it. What I did to fix it was replace that file with phpnuke7.5 patched version of settings.php... it is working now... hopefully so will user registration and some other things
