I just set up my PHP-Nuke system and, after creating the admin account, went to the site as a normal user/visitor and tried to set up a new user account - just to make sure everything was working alright - to see the process a new user would go through in signing up.

Everything seemed to work fine in the sign up process. I received the confirmation email with which I needed to confirm activation of the account and clicked the link in that email. It then took me to the home page of the site.

I then tried to log in with my new username and password, but it didn't work. I tried having the password emailed to me, but the email never arrived.

I then went into my admin account, to the 'users' module, to see if I could add/delete/modify this account. It told me that there was no account with that Nickname. I then tried to sign up for the account again using the same username, but it said that it was already taken.

What is going on here?

One bit of info: I don't know if this effects how the site works or not, but I have the domain name for the site forwarded and masked to another domain where I have the PHP-Nuke set up. Does this matter? thanks.

via phpmyadmin
you can check your user name from nuke_users table
can see your anactivated name from nuke_users_temp ( it should be here )

i think you should check your site name/address from admin panel/preferences

okay. now I know the problem. Since I am having the domain name forwarded to a different domain (and masking the domain name), the activation link that was sent to my email address doesn't actually exist. I will have to change the address in my preferences as you say.

thanks.
